Download options

On the "Bundesbank Statistics" website, two types of downloads are offered:

Individual exports: Download of a single macroeconomic time series or a single macroeconomic real-time data indicator.
Data Basket: Download of up to 1,000 time series and real-time data indicators simultaneously.

For both download options, the corresponding API link can be automatically generated in the download dialog box. In this box, the format for the download is also selected.

Additionally, the Bundesbank SDMX web service is available, offering further endpoints, formats, and parameters for automated access to the data. Information about this can be found in the API help section of this page.

Individual exports

Using the "Export Options" button, each time series and real-time data indicator can be downloaded individually.

Four formats are available for download: SDMX-ML, SDMX-JSON, SDMX-CSV and BBK-CSV.

If a time period has been set when displaying a time series or real-time data indicator, it can be applied to the download using the "Include filter" option. Alternatively, the complete time series with all available values can also be downloaded.

Data basket

Time series and real-time data indicators can be collected in the data basket for saving and export.

The link to the data basket, which shows the number of data already added, can be found in the upper right corner of all pages on the website.

Add data

Time series or real-time data can be added to the data basket both individually and collectively (in the results of the time series search).

It is also possible to add a mix of time series and real-time data indicators to the data basket.

A limit of 1,000 time series/real-time data indicators must not be exceeded.

Manage the data basket

Clicking on the link "Data basket" will open the corresponding page.

This displays all the pre-selected time series and real-time data indicators. It is possible to remove or add more data.

The following parameters can be set for downloading the data basket:

"Observation period": for time series and real-time data
"Calculation status": only for real-time data

Generate the data basket link

In order to save or share the selection, a download link can be generated for later use of the selected data basket.

Export data

So far, only one pre-selection has been made for the data basket. For the final selection, the corresponding data in the list must be marked with a check mark. It is possible to select the data either individually or all at the same time.

After clicking on the "Export data" button, one of the four formats SDMX-ML, SDMX-JSON, SDMX-CSV or BBK-CSV must be selected.

The data basket can then be downloaded.

The generated download file is always generated in ZIP format. Within this ZIP file is created in the selected format for each data flow and for each frequency.
